Where to find it
If something goes wrong
Someone calls or messages asking for your OTP.
Never share a one-time password (OTP), password or PIN with anyone. This is true even if they say they are from the Income Tax Department or your bank. Enter codes only on the portal.
You are past the time limit.
Click Ok when the portal asks.
Pick a reason, then click Continue.
This sends a request asking the tax office to accept your late confirmation. Your return counts only after the office approves it.
You cannot log in.
Click e-Verify Return on the homepage.
Enter your PAN (Permanent Account Number), the tax year that follows the money year you earned in, the acknowledgement number and your mobile number.
Then enter the mobile OTP.
The bank or demat option does not work.
The account must be pre-validated and enabled for codes. Pick another way, such as Aadhaar OTP.
