How we check every guide

Our editorial and corrections policy

Our operating rule is simple: publish only what we can verify and maintain. We are clear about the source, the date, who the guidance applies to and any testing limits.

1. Source

Every guide starts from an official source — the notice, circular or portal page from the body that runs the service, such as EPFO, ESIC, UIDAI, the Income Tax Department or the relevant Kerala government department. We save the source's address, date and the state it applies to. We never use another blog or news site as the source of a fact.

2. Draft

A draft follows the same four-part template every time: what it is and who can use it; documents and steps; common problems and official help; and sources with the last-checked date. AI tools may help prepare a first draft. Any fact that is missing or uncertain is marked for checking.

3. Review

A person compares every claim and every step with the official source, removes any personal details, and validates the steps where that is possible without making real claims, payments or account changes. Where a step could not be tested, the guide says so.

4. Approve and publish

A specific version is approved, and only that version can be published. Our publishing system blocks any version that still has an unchecked fact, has no official source or no last-checked date, or appears to contain a personal identity number. Every step is recorded in an update register.

5. Recheck and update

Published guides are rechecked against their sources regularly — alerts and deadlines more often than evergreen guides — and whenever the source changes. The date at the top of each guide is the last time it was actually compared with the source. Expired notices are clearly marked rather than left looking current.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, please use the report a mistake form, or the link at the end of any guide. We check each report against the official source, correct the guide through the same review process, and list corrections below.

Independence

This is an independent site, not a government portal. Advertising, sponsors or affiliate links, if ever added, will be clearly labelled and never decide what a guide says.
